Senior Accountant - Finance Business Partnering

Would you like a highly varied role engaging with a range of different projects? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Finance Business Partner at our site in Samlesbury.

Here, we are responsible for the delivery of our European & International commitments for Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk, including Production of Aircraft, Aircraft Capability, and delivering Through Life Support. This is an exciting time to join our team. We have recently finalised an order for 24 Typhoon and 9 Hawk aircraft to Qatar, with production currently underway to support first aircraft deliveries.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing Senior Project Accountant support to a key Production & Support contract within the Europe and International portfolio. You will be part of an Integrated Project Team, working alongside Commercial, Project Management, Operations and Procurement; therefore, your ability to work cross-functionally is vital. You will need to exhibit high levels of business acumen to ensure you add value to your Project and BAE Systems as a whole.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be highly visible to senior stakeholders within the business

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Finance Business Partner will involve:

To support the delivery of all internal and external reporting requirements as required. This includes:

Preparation and challenge of 5 Year Business Plans (Budgets) including assumptions, risks and opportunities and bridging to previous submissions

Preparation and challenge of Monthly Forecasts including assumptions, risks and opportunities and explanation of forecast movements

Supporting the business in producing robust quarterly Contract Status Reports (CSRs) and half yearly Sales and Margin Trading Plans

Engaging cross functionally, and with Cost Account Managers (CAMs) / budget holders, to drive process improvements, with particular focus on accuracy of cash forecasting

Providing inputs to the monthly balance sheet process and commentary, supporting actions where appropriate

Focus on maintaining and improving E&I financial controls through;

Understanding Accounting Standards and their application to the Project you are working on

Ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and supporting non finance functions on their application

Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business to help drive the Finance function forward

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

CIMA, ACA or ACCA - Qualified

People management experience

Excellent influencer and creative approach / mind-set

Stakeholder Management Skills with senior board members

Desirable:

Preferably already working as a Project Accountant in manufacturing or service-based industry

Good Presentational Skills

Salary: 43,268+
