The Eastern Division of Mott Macdonald's Buildings and Infrastructure Unit delivers Water projects for a diverse client base including Lead Local Flood Authorities, The Environment Agency and Design and Build Contractors. We are seeking a Civil Engineer who will be responsible for the development of technical solutions, from feasibility stage, through various gateway design stages and ultimately delivery to the construction site. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be involved in various types of Flood Risk Management Projects which could include the design of hydraulic structures and flood defences, preparation of drainage designs, negotiation and preparation of drainage consent applications and the preparation of studies, specifications and reports.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake a leading role in the delivery of design services to our clients
* Positively engage with our clients to develop relationships and enhance our reputation;
* Coordinating and working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary design team to achieve design outputs;
* Deliver design work in accordance with the project programme
* Deliver designs that consider and mitigate safety and environmental risks;
* Embrace digital delivery;
Candidate specification:
* Incorporated or chartered engineer status with a recognised professional institution e.g. ICE
* Post-graduate experience in an engineering design role (Water experience preferred)
* An in-depth knowledge of the design of Water Infrastructure;
* Strong communication skills to interact with other disciplines and clients, and to develop and promote the team;
* The ability to manage and motivate individuals to consistently deliver;
* A willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks;
* A drive to be abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions;
