Project Leader IT&F

Would you like to work with advanced technology on a highly complex programme of national significance? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Leader IT&F at our site in Barrow.

As a Project Leader IT&F, you will be working within the Shore Integration Facility (SIF) which is an off-boat testing and simulation facility. Its primary purpose is the provision of a platform where BAE Systems and the suppliers of various electrical sub-systems can ensure their systems and interfaces are functioning correctly prior to delivery to the boat. The ground floor of the building provides an Internal Communications & Platform Data Systems (ICPDS) test capability whilst the first floor provides a Control & Instrumentation (C&I) test capability.

This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity, working with critical systems of the Boat to test their performance prior to integration into the platform, enabling you to gain further exposure across the business and liase with various teams.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Leader IT&F will involve:

Overseeing delivery of infrastructure outfit in time to meet system & integration testing, liaising closely with Supply Chain, IMST, Engineering and Site & Facilities

Working closely with Supply Chain, SIF Test engineering teams and the wider platform operations and T&C teams in order to ensure timely delivery of equipment into test prior to delivery to the boat

Liaising with the ICPDS delivery team in order to schedule testing in the facility

Managing and maintaining metrics and reporting weekly progress

Monitoring project performance and identifying emerging issues or trends

Liaising closely with planning, cost engineering and risk in order to ensure fully resourced, costed and risk assessed schedules

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience using Marine design tools (TeamCenter NX/Solid works etc.)

Project management experience

Very strong communication skills

Stakeholder management experience

Engineering knowledge would be beneficial
