Client Tax Operations Utility - Refundable Tax Analyst

Job Description

This role is within the Global Tax Operation involves, facilitating tax relief at source and retrospective reclaim of taxes from tax authorities in EMEA for in-house investments. You will be responsible for documenting our accounts with our sub-custodians, reconcile our in-house positions to identify reclaim opportunities across different markets, file retrospective reclaims and make tax refunds payments.

The IB Tax team – Professional, will be a part of wider IB Tax team in Bournemouth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactive operational support to ensure a premier service regarding the following
  1. Documentation
  2. Relief at Source
  3. Retrospective reclaims
  4. Tax refunds services
  • Ensure all work is carried out to meet all departmental and market deadlines
  • Able to understand market changes and its impacts on internal processes
  • Ensure close collaboration with internal / external stakeholders and manage stakeholders’ relationships
  • Proactive analysis, response on outstanding queries to all internal / external partners and client representatives
  • Maintain Tax records and procedures for internal use to ensure all market and procedural changes are reflected accurately.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and process documentation
  • Review operational tax processes to identify areas of improvement
  • Able to Identify risks and solution resolution
  • Perform UAT for system enhancements

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/honours degree or equivalent preferred
  • Basic knowledge international taxation is preferable
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to be a strong team player and showcase excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy within strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Broad technical knowledge of International tax laws and regulations
  • Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issues
