Project Controller

Would you like to play a key role in our Air Sector organisation supporting our US customer on complex and challenging projects, where you will play an integral role in Project Management?We currently have an exciting opportunity for Project Controllers to join our F35 team at our Samlesbury site.

As a Project Controller, you will be part of a team of professionals using world class project control techniques to support the Project Managers in the delivery of large, high value, technically complex and strategically important programmes.

This role will provide you with opportunity to utilise project control technology and toolsets, and play an integral role in the F35 Project Management team. This role could lead to future development opportunities within the team or wider BAE Systems Business.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Controller will involve:

Establishing and managing the project schedules in line with agreed deliverables

Tracking spend and controlling project costs

Implementing and utilising Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies

Driving ownership of the work scope tasks throughout the project team

Supporting the identification and management of Risks and Opportunities

Analysing project information to enable early identification of problems and then implementing mitigation actions

Providing managerial analysis and a level of independent challenge to the organisation with respect to project performance

Lead the monthly Earned Value (EV) and risk cycle deliverables, including processing EV and risk data, generation of reports and Baseline Change Requests as appropriate

Management of performance metrics measuring process compliance and maturity

Drive continuous improvement activities with respect to EV, planning, risk, and the toolset used within the team

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Experience of operating an effective project control system to define progress and identify programme performance issues

Demonstrable experience of risk, opportunity and change management

Experience creating and maintaining project schedules using toolsets such as MSP and OPP

Strong proven experience of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project

Experience applying Earned Value Management technique

Strong analytical and reporting skills to enable key decisions to be made effectively

Desirable:

Formal Project Management Qualification (e.g. APMP, PMQ, PMP, Prince 2)

You will have a proven ability to lead as well as excellent communication skills and proven experience of developing and maintaining excellent stakeholder relations.

Salary: £37,654 + Dependent on experience
