Are you a versatile, dynamic and enthusiastic procurement professional with Capital and Consultancy engagement experience? Are you seeking an opportunity to extend your influence by playing a fundamental role in the successful realisation of a range of consultancy and contract engagements?

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Capital Procurement team to lead (with appropriate support) on the sourcing of critically important services and works to support the Greater Manchester Infrastructure Programme (GMIP) and additional similar high profile projects, influencing senior stakeholders, driving innovation into our projects and driving out costs for reinvestment in future projects.

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

In this role you will develop procurement strategies together with the planning, implementation and execution of subsequent procurements ranging from call off competitions under existing frameworks to running and managing competitive tenders in accordance with current UK Public Procurement regulations.

You will have experience in working alongside consultancies to deliver high profile infrastructure programmes and have some competitive construction procurement experience for very significant sub-contract packages or whole construction or civil engineering projects with a commensurate level of contractual knowledge including NEC3. You will ideally be MCIPS qualified or willing to study towards it and will be focussed on understanding market trends and understand how best to leverage opportunities that the market can bring to Transport for Greater Manchester. You will be able to influence and communicate effectively to a range of audiences in order to sell your view of how the market should be approached in order to drive the optimum value for Transport for Greater Manchester. You will also be educated to degree level of have sufficient experience within the relevant subject matter.

The salary range for this role is £41,670- £46,901 per annum. Salary on appointment within the salary range will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
