Operating within the Chief Customer Office, the Interactions Analytics and Performance team are here to develop and deliver customer interactions that are truly special in nature, supporting the delivery of over £100m in commercial value per annum, through the delivery c. 20% of needs met for the Retail Bank. We achieve this by consistently delivering world class interactions, insights, and analytics supported importantly through reporting layers that help understand the commercial performance of such interactions.
This role will work amongst a community of insight, analytical and data engineers, who work to help LBG consistently delivery its commercial and customer driven outcomes. The community of data specialists will work together to continue to optimise the portfolio of interactions seeking to improve the return on investment, identify new commercial opportunities, balanced to continuing to improve the effectiveness of customer interactions.
As a data engineer, you'll specifically work closely with the Reporting Team, Analytical Community and Data Engineers to improve our understanding of the effectiveness of interactions performance by maintaining and developing the reporting data layers (RDL) that drive our commercial understanding and marketing effectiveness. In the fullness of time the expectation of the role will be to help rebuild the reporting data layer to ensure that the reporting is as flexible and efficient as possible and continue to build out an ever richer and deeper understanding of Interactions performance. This will be matched with investment, to make sure we succeed and keep the reporting layers world class and fit for the next chapter of the Groups Strategic Direction.
We welcome a range of analytical and data engineering backgrounds which will complement the capability we already have within the team. As such the following list of skills should be seen as exemplars of the types of experience we're looking for. Example technical skillsets include:
- Fundamentally you'll possess advanced SQL skills (ideally Teradata) and experience of working with large datasets in a similar analytical or data modelling role
- You'll be adept at sourcing data from strategic sources (data warehouses etc.) and comfortable building data solutions to answer business questions
- Wider experience of other tools and technologies such as Aster, Tableau and Hadoop is also desirable
- You'll have an appreciation of agile principles with practical experience of working in an agile environment an advantage
