Flood Modeller

As a Flood Modeller, you will be part of a large team of hydrologists, hydraulic modelers and flood risk specialists, working closely with our teams of engineers to deliver a wide range of modelling assignments for UK and international clients. These may include flood hydrology and forecasting, pluvial, fluvial, reservoir, coastal and water quality modelling, flood risk assessments, NFM and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Your input will help our internal teams and external clients to deliver complex multidisciplinary projects that will provide great benefits to local communities and the environment.

Depending on your experience you could lead projects, interacting with clients and coordinating staff, contribute to expand our business and provide technical support to others. If you are still working towards Chartership, you will develop your skills under the supervision and support of our senior staff and be trained to become an expert in the field.

Candidate Specification:

What qualifications, aptitudes and experience will you need?

  • Relevant degree-level qualifications (e.g. hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering, or other related disciplines)
  • Keen interest in flood risk management and related environmental areas
  • Good understanding of hydraulic modelling and significant experience in delivering work in that area.
  • Competent in modelling and geo-spatial software packages (eg: FMP, TUFLOW, FEH, Infoworks, ArcGIS, MapInfo)
