Project Manager – Energy
Would you like to play a key role in a new and exciting BAE Systems Business? Would you like to take on the challenge to deliver a variety of energy infrastructure solutions in a growing and developing business area? If so, we have a vacancy for a dynamic professional Project Manager who is motivated by Energy technology and has experience in developing and delivering a wide variety of Energy infrastructure solutions such as (but not limited to) CHP plants, solar panelling, car charging and/or battery installations.
BAE Systems has a developing business that provides Energy solutions that include consultancy, project delivery and bureau services. To support this business, as the Project Manager Energy you will be reporting to the Energy Services Lead and responsible for delivering a range of Energy infrastructure projects across a different sites. You will be using your project management expertise and experience to help develop bid and tender responses, and then deliver these energy solutions to the customer onsite.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to provide a real and measured contribution to the success of this growing business as you ensure all aspects of delivery including planning, budgeting, risk and sub contract management are successfully conducted.Being high profile, you will have excellent communication and diplomacy skills to ensure that you manage and develop healthy relationships with key stakeholders including subcontractors, customers, senior management and the wider company. This role will also give you exposure within the business, as well as providing future opportunities to progress within the organisation.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Manager will involve:
Influence and manage customer’s requirements to ensure a well understood balanced bid is developed that can be executed profitably and effectively.
Successfully develop and deliver complex infrastructure projects with high stakeholder involvement by ensuring budget, performance, risk, quality standards are managed.
Adapt project plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
Liaise with local M&E/civils & customer engineering teams, and involvement in technical discussions.
Issue authorisations for work within the scope of own activity, ie. Release of budget such that work can be undertaken, and the contract or project delivered
Develop accurate KPIs and reporting packs.
Make decisions regarding a project resourcing, sub contract and supply chain activity.
Management of all SHE activities within project scope where applicable & execution of appropriate CDM regulations.
Your skills and qualifications:
Experience in defining, bidding and delivering infrastructure projects
Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices).
Able to resolve project-related problems that do not have routine solutions.
Good understanding of the Business environment and external context for Energy team.
Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
Suitable Project Management experience and/or Degree/honours degree in a PM/business qualification.
Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP, PMP)
Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering knowledge / experience would be highly beneficial.
Knowledge and appreciation of a wide range of Energy technologies.

You will also be a good problem solver working within a framework of policies, procedures and the business plan, but happy to receive guidance on this matters from senior management where necessary.
