Digital & Information Strategy Manager

Would you like to manage and coordinate the creation and continual evaluation of the Air Digital Strategy and enable BAE Systems Air Sector to exploit fully new and emerging digital technologies? We currently have a vacancy for a Digital & Information Strategy Manager at our site in Warton.

The Air Digital strategy will outline how the likes of Industry 4.0, Digital Engineering, Connected Digital Ecosystems and Predictive Maintenance will shape the Future Combat Air System, Typhoon, F-35 and Hawk programmes. The strategy is aligned to UK MoD's Future Combat Air Strategy which outlines future vision for Combat Air in the UK and the development of the next generation of Combat Air System

As a Digital & Information Strategy Manager you will draw upon your technical and managerial experience to help shape the digital future of the Air Sector in BAE Systems, leading and influencing the use of digital business approaches, methods and technologies to create world-leading capabilities in Design, Manufacture and Support Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the Air Digital Strategy, vital in underpinning the future capability and competiveness of the Digitally Enabled Air Enterprise.

Your main responsibilities as a Digital & Information Strategy Managerwill involve:

Maintaining and communicating the Air Sector’s defined strategy for managing and exploiting information and the associated digital and information technology

Ensuring that uniformly recognised and accepted data definitions are developed and applied throughout the organisation

Modelling the processes and information required to support the organisation and devises corresponding data structures and architectures

Identifying the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organisation's use of information

Orchestrating the development of the strategy across the Air Digital working groups, other functions, the IM&T Competency Centres, Architecture and Customer teams

Liaising with the CIO, CTO plans and managing the digital technology demonstration programme, liaising with Air Stakeholders and technology partners and vendors. You will work with Academia for future horizon scanning, creating and managing the Academia engagement plan

Managing provision of specialist knowledge over a range of topics including the role of IT in the business; in own areas of expertise provides advice and guidance influencing the effectiveness of the organisation’s business processes

Your skills and qualifications:

You will have excellent demonstrated numerate/ literacy/ communication skills this may have come from a technical degree or MBA (or equivalent experience)

This role will suit a candidate with a degree of technical knowledge as well as the ability to communicate effectively across a range of levels including senior stakeholders.

Demonstrated Project Management experience

Experience in the Information and Digital space is essential

Demonstrated commercial acumen

You will have worked in an innovation/ research/ entrepreneurial type role involving new or future technologies
