First Call Responders
Location: Inner M25 area (London)
Salary: £15,091 to £16,768 (based on a 20-hour working week)
Hours: Flexible (up to 20 hours per week)
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone looking for flexible working arrangements. Here at SGN we are all about people and building safe experiences for our customers through delivering their gas safely, reliably and efficiently. This role is all about exactly that – keeping our customers safe in their homes.
You will have your own SGN van and be responsible for responding to calls from our team about potential gas escapes / CO alarms / Meter faults. Day to day, you would be out and about, working independently, problem solving, speaking with our customers, and most importantly keeping people safe.
When attending a potential gas escape inside a building, you would ensure everyone is safe,find the source of the leak and take the required action to stop it. Our wider team is there to support if you need further assistance with preventing the gas leak.
You don’t need to be an expert… We provide our own specialised learning and development programs, providing access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills and qualifications needed to excel in our environment. Please note that this role does require base level qualifications (see more detail below).

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Our First Call Responders are friendly and approachable people with an aptitude for customer service because they deal with members of the public on a day to day basis. We’re keen to find someone with these attributes as well as a flexible approach to work, and a keenness to take on new skills to further your career. We’re also looking for;
- A current ACS qualifications CCN1 or CESP1 and ideally also MET1 to 4
- The ability to think on your feet whilst always being safety aware
- A full and valid driving licence (this is essential)
- The willingness and flexibility to work variable hours (you may also be required to visit locations around the UK for training or to support team activities)
