Playing a key role in the development function of the Highways division, you will lead a team of bid and marketing professional to support Account Leads in their pursuit of key strategic prospects. Building relationships across technical disciplines, resource managers and leadership teams, you will offer expert advice to ensure the output of winning bids, from early capture activities through to final production.

Being a recognised expert in proposal development and management, you will work with the Highways business and wider transportation colleagues to target the team's efforts where the greatest value can be added. You will support the professional development of the team, identifying opportunities to enhance their skills, experience and reputation.

A desire to win is critical. We will need you to drive, lead and assist in the production of best in class bid quality submissions, bringing together the right technical, management and leadership skills to deliver client needs and desires, both those articulated and those understood through client intelligence.You will work with Account Leads to elicit and understand client insights of particular relevance to each pursuit, using them to craft key, bespoke messaging to be woven into the written responses, presentations or dialogue.

The role also requires your expertise to drive improvement in pursuits activity across Highways. You will bring the right people together to identify lessons learnt and review client feedback; you will use these to drive process and content improvements in future bids. Beyond that you will work with our professional excellence practices and early career professionals to identify and delivery upskilling activities across the division, liaising with your peers in other divisions and across the organisation to share and seek out best practice to support the ambitions of Mott MacDonald globally.

Other duties:

  • Compliance with Group and Unit directives and governance within delegated authorities
  • Compliance with group systems and the Quality, Environmental and Safety system
  • Sharing best practice across the MM group to enhance quality submissions.
  • Contribute to a knowledge bank of bid material, evidence and responses to facilitate strategic development of quality responses
  • Act as a champion of and acts credibly in accordance with the organisation's values (PRIDE)

We are looking for someone that has extensive experience in pursuit leadership and management, developing winning proposals from early intelligence to bid production and client presentations. You will need to be a leader with proven management and team development credentials and a demonstrable ability to swiftly build effective collaborative relationships.
