Would you like to play a key role within Mission Support Air Service, avionic system development of the Sceptre Mission Planning System? We currently have a vacancy for a Mission Planning Systems Senior Engineer at our site in Warton.
As a Mission Planning Systems Senior Engineer, you will be support and lead avionic development activities of Mission Planning System capabilities, principally the BAE Systems Sceptre Typhoon Mission Planning System.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to be involved significant capability growth area within BAE Systems and a rapidly growing team. This will allow you to work at the forefront of modern technology and have a significant impact on the development of Typhoon technology.
Your main responsibilities as a Mission Planning Systems Senior Engineer will involve:
Leading/Supporting impact analysis of avionic design changes on the Mission Planning System design
Leading/Supporting the generation and maintenance of system testing plans and associated documentation, such as test procedures and reports, in support of system aircraft integration activities
Leading/Supporting platform-level system testing (desktop synthetic tools, system integration rigs and on-aircraft)
Leading/Supporting the resolution of technical queries to deliver and maintain systems that satisfy agreed requirements
Supporting the development and evolution of the Sceptre Typhoon Mission Planning System and associated Mission Support Systems
Hold a degree or equivalent engineering qualification alongside an engineering background
Familiarity across avionic design, development, testing and/or certification is required
Engineering qualification and ideally experience with systems/ mission planning experience
Experience of taking design requirements and deriving requirements into a tangible engineering solution
Experience of working with operators, aircrew, engineers to ascertain engineering problems and working through to solution
Strong test planning, testing and report writing experience will be required for this role
Eurofighter Typhoon platform knowledge (ground mission) would be highly desirable
Familiarity with Mission Planning / Typhoon Avionic design and toolsets (PCMS would be desirable)
You will be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation, supplier and with the customer. This will be demonstrated by your ability to be a good team worker, logical thinker and able to remain effective under pressure with an inquisitive, pro-active and enthusiastic mind-set.
