Sales & Business Winning Manager

Would you like to be responsible for leading all activities associated with business winning including identifying opportunities outside of our core market, developing customer relationships and creating sales opportunities? We currently have a vacancy for a Sales & Business Winning Manager. This role will be based in Portsmouth however given the amount of travel associated with the role you can be based anywhere in the UK from home.

As a Sales & Business Winning Manager, you will work closely with the Engineering Services teams to identify and deliver business winning opportunities. This is a senior leadership role that requires energy, discipline and creativity, whilst being able to work with a multi-disciplined team within a highly complex environment. This is a core role responsible for developing business growth, and will require a candidate with the ambition to deliver results.

Your main responsibilities as a Sales & Business Winning Manager will involve:

Fostering business growth by developing a business plan and model that enables new sales opportunities in various markets.

Planning and overseeing marketing initiatives to support the development of opportunities in new markets.

Work with capability managers to develop and provide customised service solutions.

Develop the Business Case for pursuing bid opportunities and bid budgets.

Overseeing the bid and capture teams to deliver high quality bid/proposal(s) by setting direction, objectives and developing appropriate strategies.

Develop sales strategies and approaches for supporting improved market penetration, such as promotional catalogues, sponsored events and seminars etc.

Analyse trends, data, demographics, pricing strategies, and other information that can potentially improve marketing and sales performance.

Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events to promote our services and develop sales opportunities.

Your skills and qualifications:

Extensive Sales and Business Winning experience.

A deep understanding of business winning behaviours, processes, procedures and industry best practice in a competitive environment.

Solid knowledge of engineering services and how these fit into the wider UK engineering consultancy market

Takes ownership for sales forecasts own tasks, defining own and team objectives

Experience in developing opportunities outside core markets

Strong sales experience in medium to large firms

Considerable experience in leading, managing and delivering strategically important and high value campaigns/captures

Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent experience is desirable

Ability to engage, negotiate and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Effective interpersonal abilities necessary for leading and interacting with diverse work teams across multiple projects

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (role can be home based anywhere in the UK)
