Job Description SummaryThis role is being created to support Development & Innovation develop and explore new opportunities for the Risk Division with a long-term view that drives the strategy through data driven analysis of the wider financial service and technology world. We want to deliver products people didn’t know they needed.
The successful applicant will actively participate in the transformation of the risk function through exploring and championing initiatives in new technology, analytical techniques and data. As a data scientist you will be involved in solving a wide range of issues requiring the adoption of Machine Learning, AI and Advanced Analytics and other new technologies to solve real world issues. In addition as a Data Scientist you will be expected to:Provide technical support and assistance to the business using own judgement in risk analysis and management, escalating more complex queries as required
- Delivers analysis/reviews on individual assignments or well-defined tasks on larger projects to support the business
- Investigates industry best practice as directed and advises senior colleagues of possible implications for risk management processes in the Group
- Establishes and builds relationships with stakeholders to identify business requirements and provides appropriate support and guidance
- Deep knowledge of a range of processes and techniques
- Supervision is light and guidance rarely required
What skills and experience can you bring to the role?
To be considered it is essential that you have:
proven Coding/scripting experience (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, C#, SQL, R etc) developed in a commercial/industry setting and also experience working with relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL stores) and some exposure to Hadoop technologies
Data analysis using Python would be highly desirable (e.g.Jupiter Notebooks, pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scipy)
Experience of delivering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques
Strong working knowledge of machine learning models, data mining
techniques and inference algorithms such as decision trees, association rules, clustering, classification, regression, topic models, stochastic sampling and collaborative filtering
