As Senior Manager Future Fund you will work in the team responsible for managing the portfolio of investments of the Future Fund within our Venture Solutions team. This team will grow significantly over the next two years.

The Future Fund issues convertible loans to innovative UK Companies with good potential that rely on equity investment. It is part of a package of interventions announced by the Chancellor to support businesses that were losing revenue and seeing their cashflow disrupted as a result of the COVID 19 outbreak. The Future Fund opened for applications in May 2020. The Future Fund team manage the portfolio of several hundred companies who have been successful in their application for a convertible loan. The Bank’s Future Fund team is supported by an external service agent who manages the applications process and will continue to support the Bank with portfolio administration.

Reporting to the Director Future Fund, you will design and improve processes and procedures for portfolio administration and reporting, working closely with our service agent. You will build expertise on the use of our Salesforce-based reporting system and other systems used within the Bank. The Senior Manager will lead on more complex conversion events and other corporate events where Future Fund is a significant shareholder. You will carry out quarterly portfolio reviews and work closely with teams including Legal, Risk, Finance and specialist advisers as required to complete conversion, redemption, and other events through the life of the investment.

You will have experience of working in fund management, investment banking, corporate finance or a commercial lending environment. You will have a working knowledge of business governance and transactional processes and understand company ownership and governance documents including articles of association, subscription, investment and shareholder agreements, accounts and other contracts. It is preferred that you have a background in venture capital, venture debt or financing of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). It would also be of benefit to have experience in managing a large-scale portfolio of investments and advising SMEs in a financial capacity. Experience of Salesforce or similar CRM/case management software is also preferred.

You will be a motivated self-starter with an ability to work confidently and collaboratively with colleagues. You will have excellent communication skills with integrity and an eye for detail. You should be educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience.
