Senior Quality Manager

Would you like to play a key role within quality, working on our Submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Quality Manager at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Submarines Solutions Quality strategy is deployed within the relevant business area and that it is fully implemented and supportive of the business programmes, ensuring quality requirements for relevant products and programmes are addressed and are effectively met.

This role is a key quality leadership role with full responsibility for the collection and verification of Quality Records on the Dreadnought Programme, you will have opportunities to help shape the Quality Strategy in terms of people, process and toolset improvements.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Quality Manager will involve:

Ensuring the Health & Safety of all your employees and that your area operates in accordance with Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

Ensuring products and services are developed, purchased, built, assembled, tested, inspected and commissioned to satisfy Customer, regulatory (including Nuclear) and business needs within given area of responsibility

As a quality domain expert, influencing and deploying Submarines Solutions Quality Policy and Strategy to satisfy BAE SYSTEMS Operational Framework and Submarines business requirements within given area of responsibility

Maintaining third party certifications and ensure current standards are applied within given area of responsibility

Assuring consistent and efficient processes are developed for Submarines to enable delivery of programmes to customer and business expectations within given area of responsibility

Establishing appropriate measures of performance including ‘Cost of Quality’ within given area of responsibility and lead the analysis of the data to ensure appropriate improvement actions are delivered

To be conversant with the Quality Management System, specifically the processes and documentation contained therein associated with your function

Deploying the applicable (new or revised) Quality Management System documentation to your team ensuring they have both a thorough understanding of the content and can ultimately demonstrate their competence to apply them within given area of responsibility

Leading the development and delivery of appropriate training, education & mentoring to Quality managers and staff for them to undertake their defined duties

Managing given budgets to ensure that the objectives of Submarine Solutions are realised

Ensuring that the Quality department operates in accordance with the company Health and Safety Policy and procedures.NB - This role is likely to have both Project/Major Function and Quality sub-function reporting lines, integrity for quality matters must be maintained always

Leading, motivating, coaching and mentoring a team of Quality professionals to deliver against required quality standards

Your skills and qualifications:

Data and business Analysis

Quality skills and or quality experience

Submarines toolset knowledge (T/C, JMS etc)

Team leadership/management

Quality root cause analysis

Data report development & presentation
