Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer

Would you like to play a key role in our Air Insights team within Air Sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer at our site in Warton.

As a Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer, you will contribute to the development and transformation of Air Insights programme. IM&T Development is a key part of the Air Insights programme and will help to drive a cultural business change, covering a wide range of business solutions, which depend heavily on Information to enable and offer the customer the required capability. In any transformation project business analysis is critical in ensuring all improvement opportunities are meticulously identified so future IM&T solutions are developed and delivered.

This role will provide you with a great opportunity to develop broad business experience and increase your professional network. You will gain exposure to impacting the business by contributing to the development and transformation of using newer technology within the business. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in a large programme which could lend itself to career development/ expansion opportunities.

Your main responsibilities as a Business Intelligence & Analytics Developer will involve:

Identifying operational problems and contributes to their resolution

Demonstrating Solution Design methodologies and problem-solving techniques in an organised and logical approach

Taking a considered approach to solution implementation of IT systems, recognising the linkages between the domains of technology, information, applications and business

Carrying out data modelling and reporting

Understanding the definition of and adherence to the Company architectural intent

Understanding of business policies/processes and strategic direction to ensure business benefit at all times

Coordinating and delivers IT activities/projects aligning to IT preferred methodology

Your skills and qualifications:

An analytical approach to data

Knowledge and experience relevant to creating design specifications, modelling data, developing BI Dashboards/Reports, testing, validating, deploying and BI Capabilities in an agile manner.

Experience any with the following is required; SQL,TSQL, a BI toolset which ideally would include Tableau, Cognos, or SSRS, SSAS (Desirable)

Knowledge and understanding of ETL technologies - Data Virtualisation, SSIS/data warehousing/vaults

The role requires an understanding of IT systems and the principles and approaches that influence their performance

Salary: £37,654
