Maintenance Electrician

Would you like to play a key role supporting business critical equipment associated with the development, test and production of aircraft products and systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Electrician at our site in Warton.

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and performance of plant and equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults whilst taking a pro-active approach to solving any general electrical problems that may occur.

This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of plant equipment, working with the latest technological and innovative developments in manufacturing, maintaining up to 4000 assets.

Your main responsibilities as a Maintenance Electrician will involve:

Complying with all applicable safety rules, policies and procedures

Undertaking preventative maintenance activities on plant and equipment

Conducting fault diagnosis and repair of plant and equipment

Recording details of breakdowns and repairs where necessary to facilitate further analysis

Providing on-site support 24 hours per day from Sunday to Friday with Saturday day cover on a rota shift basis

Working alone or as part of a multi-disciplined team

Taking account for your own work and in some instances will be required to work alongside specialist contractors

Your skills and qualifications:

Electrical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with experience within a relevant electrical discipline

Knowledge and experience of fault finding of 3 phase power, electrical control systems and PLC control systems

Previous experience of working in a maintenance environment

Knowledge of instrumentation control (PID, Temp, Pressure etc)

An understanding of variable speed drives

17th / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification

Ability to read electrical schematic drawings
Desirable knowledge of airfield ground lighting

You will be motivated, inquisitive with a desire to learn. You will have strong communication skills, be a strong team player but will also be confident working autonomously. You will be proactive, seek out opportunities for improvement and seek advice where required.

A willingness to work at height, in confined spaces, outdoors, travel on company business and work unsociable hours including shift work and overtime when required.

Salary: £33,397
