Brief Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital to our success. We are looking for a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our team.

The Senior Fire Safety Engineer will provide specialist fire safety advice and support to the region.Develop and assist in the delivery of effective and efficient arrangements that comply with relevant legislation, protect the company's assets and minimise the impacts of fire on the company's undertakings.

About the role (External)

Role and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

1.Develop and produce policy, fire risk control arrangements (including standards, procedures and codes of practice) and fire safety training requirements.

2.Undertake fire safety inspection and risk assessment of the property portfolio and Network Rail controlled infrastructure.

3.Identify and develop appropriate engineering controls for reducing the risk of fires.

4.Provide design advice and technical review for proposed alterations to the property portfolio and Network Rail controlled infrastructure.

5.Review fire safety aspects of the ROGS applications of train operating companies.

6.Provide effective fire safety advice and support to Network Rail line management.

7.Undertake regular liaison arrangements with local rail industry managers and staff and officers of the Fire Authorities, the safety regulator and other relevant bodies to safeguard Network Rail's interests, with regard to fire safety.

8.Direct the investigation of significant fires affecting the property portfolio or Network Rail controlled Infrastructure.

ABOUT THE ROLE (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL):

Are you?

    Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers

      Degree or equivalent qualification in fire engineering

        Significant experience in fire safety at a management level

        Do you have?

        Chartered Fire Engineer

          Salary of £51,156 - £57,551 (Band 3.C) depending on skills, qualifications and experience
