Assistant Engineer

Would you like to play your part in the effective co-ordination of a large engineering team within one of the UK’s Largest Defence Companies? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Engineer at our site in Christchurch.

As an Assistant Engineer, you will be supporting a large cross functional engineering team with upcoming work packages. You will be providing assistance with tasks such as documentation updates, release paperwork, processing engineering data, co-ordination of communications and planning of team events to allow the engineer team to deliver on their planned commitments alongside further request for support across the business.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to support and gain exposure to a range of IT Engineering Area’s in a large project within BAE Systems. This role could also provide the training and development opportunities that could potentially lead to a range of career opportunities within BAE Systems from becoming more involved with the Engineering Teams to opportunities within Project Administration and Management.

Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Engineer will involve:

Planning and Coordination of engineering activities across the group

Asset management

Processing goods

Raising requisitions

Organising team communications

Supporting the production of engineering documentation

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience with Data Processing

Ability to communicate across business/team functions

Experience planning and organisation of team events, meetings and communications

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What we're looking for in you:

You will be an organised and proactive individual who can work comfortably within a cross functional team. You will also have excellent communication skills allowing you to work with a range of stakeholders including engineers and senior management.

Location: Christchurch

Salary: £25,000 + Dependent on experience
