Bid Manager

Would you like to play a key role in managing the Mission Data for Information Advantage bid programmes and associated new business campaigns within the UK and Europe market? We currently have a vacancy for a Bid Manager at our site in Warton, Lancashire.

As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for bid/proposal governance compliance, the management and delivery of formal proposals and associated review material and manage bid programme integration across multiple functions for successful delivery.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to help to win bids in order to bring new contracts into the business, working closely in partnership with leading UK industry partners and the UK MOD. This role will provide you the with opportunity to develop your career through a well-established career path within BAE Systems. There could be opportunity to take on further responsibility, define future processes and practices within the development team or expand your skillsets into a number of different roles within the team or wider BAE Systems Business.

Your main responsibilities as a Bid Manager will involve:

Leading all aspects of the planning and execution of the opportunity development plan, including helping to develop the “selling” materials delivered to the Customer

Defining/tailoring and implementing a suitable process to fit the opportunities

Selecting reviewers and schedule/organise internal reviews to assure proposal quality and compliance, together with consistency across the associated plans and review material

Communicating across key dependencies and interactions across other programmes need to be understood and monitored through regular dialogue with wider stakeholders

Supporting development of bid strategy against key business winning drivers with senior stakeholders to ensure business objectives and Customer hot buttons are delivered

Generating management reporting in support of business requirements on a regular basis

Managing governance requirements against the bid including LCM (life cycle management) and BSR activities

Reporting weekly project control of bid team budgets including spend monitoring and control

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential skills

Project management/business related degree or equivalent hands on experience

Project delivery expeirnece across the full life cycle management

Demonstrated strong technical aspects of Project Management

Desirable skills

Project management qualification i.e. PMP, AMP or Prince2

Project management methodically
Microsoft Office competence
Managing BID experience
Project Control experience

You will have strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders not only internally but also externally at all levels. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as working well within a wider team. You will be adaptive and flexible with your approach to working proactively.

Location: Warton, Lancashire.

Salary: £45,800 + depending on experience and skills
