Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Building Services

Would you like to support our site operations team with the development of newly won contract for Land UK including the development, maintenance and delivery of legally compliant business cases pertaining to site buildings, utilities & services? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at our site in Glascoed, S. Wales.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible in managing the development, maintenance and delivery of the site supporting the team in the development of new plant machinery, utilities and services. You will work with project managers, delivery managers, third party contractors and other stakeholders on the maintenance and improvement of the site including but not limited to investment case preparations, executions and physical work execution as well.

This role will provide you with the ability to work on a very high priority project for the organisation supporting BAE Systems Land UK on a large newly won contact with a high value client. You will play a pivotal role seeing the development of the site and be able to work with senior and key stakeholders.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS FOR A 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Infrastructure Engineer will involve:

Managing (with a team of technical experts) the site utilities, buildings, and associated equipment at Glascoed site, ensuring site buildings, utilities, roads and equipment comply with all applicable statutory duties with reference to Operation, Maintenance, Examination and Testing, Ensuring all works undertaken comply with all applicable company mandated policies and procedures and are executed to prescribed Safe Systems of Work.

Co-ordinating the documentation and ongoing development of safe systems of work (work task instructions and scheduled frequencies, method statements and risk assessments).

Assisting in the Project Management with/for various departments in any modification to and/or new installations of buildings & services across the site.

Providing Services and Utilities with an engineering resource to identify and resolve engineering & operational problems impacting on the performance & profitability of the Business and actively participate and lead any Continuous Improvement activities as necessary.

Ensuring correct selection, supervision and control of any labour (Contract or otherwise) and any resources within their area of control to ensure the site meets set BMS policies and legal standards. Verifying these parties work, Job Method Statements and Risk Assessments are suitable and sufficient and are within the site policies and controls and audit them to ensure compliance during the task or project.

Driving supply chain for cost effective framework agreements &/or service level agreements that add value & longevity to protect the business.

Supporting Procurement in selection process for suitable suppliers.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree Level Qualification OR equivalent in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical or Electrical or Civil)

Proven experience in Mechanical/Electrical Utilities or Civil Construction and Contractor Management (Buildings Design and Build, Building Services, Plant and Infrastructure and Equipment Engineering Maintenance)

Engineering Experience of Design, Build, Technical Construction Certification, Health & Safety File Compilation and Administration and Operational Maintenance.

Recognised Health & Safety Qualification (NEBOSH General & Construction Certificate)

Recognised Environmental Qualification (IEMA)

Desirable:

Membership of Professional Engineering Institution

Waste management Duty of Care & Hazardous Waste Regulations

Site safety management qualification (SMSTS)

Asbestos Qualifications: P405 –Management of Asbestos in buildings & P407 Managing Asbestos in Premises, the Duty Holder Requirements. (unless covered by another function)

Salary: Up to £33,919 per annum
