Panametrics is looking for a Firmware Engineer to work closely with our Electrical Engineering teams to design, prototype, validate, and maintain next-generation industrial sensing systems.

Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing software/ firmware, perform validation, and maintenance of industrial grade embedded systems
  • Evaluating system level requirements by brainstorming with Product Specialists, Product Managers, and other peers throughout the organization
  • Performing cross platform development of C/C++ code while maintaining code quality through best practices and code quality automation
  • Supporting sustaining activities across a broad product portfolio
  • Supporting the creation and implementation of process-driven design decisions (CPO; NPI and NTI; Operations, Sales, and Service support)

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Have proven experience with developing embedded C/C++ applications for embedded operating systems such as Linux, QNX Neutrino, Micrium μC/OS, etc. on ARM targets.
  • Have hands-on experience with tools like Git, SVN.
  • Have proficient in using software/hardware debugging techniques.
  • Have experience with serial communications including RS232, RS485, Modbus, I2C and SPI.
  • Have practical experience with design of industrial products.
  • Have effective communicator within technical and non-technical environments.
  • Have demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to perform in a team environment, across functions, and with customer and suppliers.
