Managing Consultants – Analytical Consulting

We are seeking Managing Consultants to join our growing team of analytical consultants, working with our clients across government and industry to support their key business decisions. At CORDA, we combine technical capabilities in modelling and analysis with customer-facing consultancy skills, to ensure we deliver high-impact advice based on robust evidence. We work across a range of sectors, including defence, transport, and security and policing.

BAE Systems CORDA is a growing consultancy business, specialising in implementing modelling and analysis techniques to help our clients across UK Government and industry make better decisions. We have over 35 years’ experience in delivering analytical projects, varying in shape, size and value. CORDA is the MOD’s partner of choice for the delivery of flagship analysis contracts and recently secured a £350m ASTRID framework contract which will provide a mechanism for delivering analysis across the MOD through to at least 2025.

Our sustained growth means we require exceptional candidates with capabilities and experience in modelling, analysis and Operational Research (e.g. simulation modelling, spreadsheet modelling, dashboard development, data analytics, and cost/benefit analysis) and related consultancy skills (e.g. customer engagement and relationship management, project management, workshop facilitation, problem structuring, process analysis).

For collaborative working and training our CORDA team is based from Farnborough, Hampshire but we adopt a flexible working approach. There is a degree of travel expected of our Managing Consultants to meet with and work alongside our clients anywhere in the UK. There may also be opportunities for you to work overseas or on-site with clients for longer periods of time.

Your main responsibilities as a Managing Consultant will involve:

Leading a portfolio of tasks and project teams to deliver modelling/analysis/consultancy projects to our clients

Consulting with customers to understand their strategic and operational objectives, to identify the analysis requirements and information needed to help support their decision-making/solutions

Engaging and building relationships with senior stakeholders and customers

Providing guidance and technical assurance to ensure that the analytical work undertaken is fit-for-purpose and meets the customer’s needs

Conducting business winning activities including customer engagement and proposal writing

Drawing on a broad network of experts from across industry and academia to ensure delivery of the best solutions to meet our customer’s individual needs

Facilitating discussions with stakeholders to explore solutions and generate new ideas to understand complex issues

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience overseeing the delivery of multiple tasks to customers in large, complex environments in either Government and/or the private sector

Experience of managing the delivery of analysis/consultancy projects to agreed budgets and timescales

Experience managing and developing customer and stakeholder relationships

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

An ability to communicate technical solutions to a non-technical audience

Good communication and interpersonal skills

An ability to coach and mentor more junior members of the team

A degree, masters or PhD in a numerate subject, or relevant experience to offset

Location: Flexible

Salary: Competitive – commensurate with experience
