Brief Description

As On Network Works (ONW) Sponsor you will manage your own team, be the single point of contact for your projects and support the development of the high-speed strategy onto the conventional network. This role is ideal if you have an interest in project management, commercial negotiation, stakeholder engagement and leadership. You will be in a fast-paced environment where no one day is the same, working jointly with HS2 Ltd to enabling programme and budgetary commitments to be fulfilled. Your scope of works will primarily be in the Midlands region, ultimately allowing HS2 Ltd to bring trains into Curzon Street Station - these are high profile critical path activities, as challenging as they are rewarding.

You will be part of the ONW team within the North West & Central (NW&C) Region which consists of three routes:

  • North West Route, covering Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire and Cumbria.
  • Central Route, covering the West Midlands and Chiltern areas.
  • West Coast Mainline South Route*, covering the West Coast main line south of Crewe to London Euston.

About the role (External)

  • Validated experience in project management and sponsorship
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Some understanding of commercial and financial awareness
  • Intermediate Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
