Route Services is a division of Network Rail, formed to provide our routes with services and supplies that they need in order to maintain and deliver a better railway for a better Britain. We work with our customers to provide them with the safest, most cost-efficient and effective services enabling them to benefit from economies of scale and optimised national resources.
This opportunity sits in Supply Chain Operations (SCO), a division of Route Services that procures safe, sustainable, products and services that are in turn used to improve and enhance the rail infrastructure across Britain. SCO aims to deliver excellent value and service to our customers, helping the rail industry to work together to deliver a more cost-effective railway.
Our extensive supply chain network plays a crucial role in helping to run a safe and efficient railway.
Every year we:
- Buy and deliver 2,000km of rail and 2.5 million tonnes of ballast.
- Operate 1,200 rail vehicles.
Behind the scenes we:
- Process £7,000,000,000 of payments.
- Handle over 23,000 IT helpdesk calls.
- Mechanical and electrical locking fitters maintain 468 signal boxes and 387 ground frames.
- Operational property helpdesk process over 200,000 calls.
This is an exciting time to join the new seasonal team. You will be starting in a new role supporting the fleet engineering team. The team has 9 staff members, which means there will always be people around to help with query's or questions you may have.
The role will involve looking into trend analysis and managing and collating data support for the fleet.
Some of this role will involve supporting projects for the team, so if you have an interest in projects and working for the railway this could be the right role for you.
About the role (External)
1.Provide support to the Route Services Fleet Teams by carrying out updates to asset data systems, including; Fleet Asset Management System (FAMS) and asset registers.
2.Extract data from FAMS and asset registers as required by Route Services Fleet Teams and produce reports as required to support team reporting and engineering assurance.
3.Manage the update and issue of asset data and technical documentation.
4.Identify and deliver developments to asset data management processes and procedures based on feedback.
5.Act as FAMS 'superuser' for The Fleet Team.
6.Maintain positive relations with customers, suppliers, and between key internal departments.
7.Identify and manage the resolution of issues, prioritisation of tasks and, where necessary, escalate where they have the potential to impact on service delivery.
8.Support the creation of an asset data policy which is compliant with current legislation, particularly the Entity in Charge of Maintenance regulations.
9.Support Fleet projects.
