The Network Services Directorate incorporates key national functions affecting all regions and routes including our National Operations Centre and Freight and National Passenger Operators team. We will collaborate with customers to develop, design and deliver national technology programmes which aim to provide innovation and technology advancement to our network, which in turn will make us more efficient and effective.

Brief Description

Who are we looking for?

In this role you will prepare disruptive event plans to enable effective management of events. This involves developing and updating plans to support the delivery of operational requirements. You will also develop and update event plans and champion continuous improvement processes to achieve effective delivery of agreed plans and KPIs.

We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. You'll need to be able to collaborate with stakeholders and engage with customers and have the ability to influence decision making. We also want someone who can demonstrate incident planning skills.

About the role (External)

What will you be doing on a day to day basis?

You'll be developing a plan for the co-ordination of significant disruptive events across all routes reducing risk to customers update in the joint event plans. You will lead cross route co-ordination and mitigation of planned events and will attend Route and National Assurance Panels on significant events that impact customers and stakeholders. You can also expect to deliver outputs within recognised and appropriate continuous improvement andvisualisation frameworks.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

What essential skills and experiences are required?

    Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience

      Ability to attain membership of Institute of Railway Operators Associate level

        Proven organisational skills, including the ability to collate multiple sources of data into a single coherent plan

          Able to demonstrate real time incident planning skills

            Demonstrable excellent interpersonal and communications skills

              Proven ability to influence decision making

                Proven ability to engage with customers and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders

                  Demonstrable knowledge of continuous improvement and visualisation tools and techniques

                    Understanding of railway engineering planning activities and processes

                    We would also like, but isn't essential

                      Previous experience of engineering or event planning activities

                      Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £38,879 - £43,738

                      Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks require prospective employees of Network Rail to meet the following requirements;

                        Provide eligibility to work in the UK and identity documentation
