This role will be part of the CIB Cybersecurity Technology Controls Data Mining group responsible for providing data and analysis to Risk forums, Business Units, Control Officers, and Information Risk Managers related to Technology Controls. The Data Engineer is responsible for delivering timely, accurate execution of uplifts to the data platform and ingestion of data sets required for measurement and analytics within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls domain.

The person will work closely with teams of Data Analytic Engineers, Application Developers and Business Analysts to create, unit test and maintain source code and data feeds into the CIB Cybersecurity Technology Controls data platform. The deliverables must be aligned to our Technology Roadmap, Code Quality Standards, Security Standards and Firmwide Development Standards. You will familiarize yourself with our web application framework and maintain and enhance ETL, Python and Javascript code that is part of the framework.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity organization practices, operations, risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering and threats and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing Agile teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish goals
  • Proficiency in the use of skills tools, staying current with skills, participating in multiple forums
  • Ability to analyze vulnerabilities, data, threats, designs, procedures and architectural design, producing reports, improving data quality and sharing intelligence
  • Foundational knowledge of: cloud computing, computer network defense, external organizations and academic institutions dealing with cybersecurity issues, financial authorities and regulations, identity management, incident management, information assurance, information management, information systems and network security and infrastructure design
