Direct the determination and development of the route customer training plans enabling NR training to transform into a sustainable business. Manage the production of Training Service Level Agreements against specific criteria which will improve performance, deliver customer satisfaction and also generate income.
About the role (External)
1.Lead in development of the training strategy for the Route which will support delivery of their business plan goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
2.Drive forward plans to enhance the commercial opportunities linked to training interventions and utilisation of Network Rail Training Centres.
3.Give direction, senior representation and support to internal clients and external stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and influence negotiations on the Route Service Level agreement.
4.Be the expert in delivering the business and technical value to customers training requests and advise on the advantages of training and competence development interventions and competence assurance regimes.
5.Shape the strategy and promote best practice in optimising commercial management of the customers training requests and incorporating views of key stakeholders.
6.Embed a culture of continuous improvement and high performance, challenge existing norms for a more efficient and effective service.
7.Lead, develop and maintain a motivated and committed organisation that is structured to deliver the required Business Plan objectives and is able to fulfill leadership responsibilities; act as a role model in delivering wider cultural and behavioral change.
8.Articulately and confidently cultivate, manage and track training demand prospects, using return on investment techniques to produce business cases.
9.Conduct regular customer meetings to review training performance and service level targets and be able to both identify and implement changes to address performance shortfalls
10.Facilitate and implement identified best practice and share other capability improvement initiatives which will benefit Network Rail Training.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrate a track record and experience of working within the Rail Training sector
- Possess strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a personable and professional nature
- Credibility and impact with senior business leaders
- A drive to deliver tangible outcomes which meet business requirements
- An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Demonstrate leadership capability
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
