Project Leader – Cost Management

Would you like to work on the most advanced machinery in the world which is critical to the UK's defence capabilities? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Leader – Cost Management at our site in Barrow.

As a Project Leader – Cost Management, you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders including many from Finance.

This role will provide you with a high visibility role within the business that can have lasting impact on the delivery of submarines.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Leader – Cost Management will involve:

Designing and developing systems, tools, and procedures to deliver effective cost management of the capital projects

Running projects as part of the Cost Management programme to design develop, tools.

Systems and procedures

Reviewing of EAC results and analysis of underpinning data

Development of training courses and delivery of them

Stakeholder engagement to cover the programmes and functional areas

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Need to be highly numerate

Analytical

System orientated (understands how systemsand processes work)

SAP knowledge (Fi-Co and PS)

Knowledge of MS Access

Desirable:

APM Qualified/CIMA/RICS/ACCA

Capital expenditure experience can be considered if have an accounting background

Maritime – Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
