A vacancy has arisen within the Accounts Payable department in Birmingham SSC, for a full time Banking Team Leader. The Team Leader position is responsible for a team of 2 to cover all BACS and manual payments, bank reconciliations, cash forecasting, refund management, PO returns, administration of employee expenses and p-card transactions.
Liaising with internal and external customers required, including the vendor base. Whilst supporting and working on other Finance & operational initiatives/projects as required.

Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the administration of all company payments, ensuring all appropriate controls are
      in place.
    • Manage the relationship with the company bank, ensuring all mandates are up to date
      Ensure bank reconciliations are completed timely and accurately and any reconciling
      items are identified and resolved.
    • Providing cash forecast information and reporting daily on cash balances.
    • Refund management, ensuring they are identified and posted to the correct ledger.
    • Management of the PO returns process.
    • Oversee the employee expenses process ensuring all controls are complied with.
    • Oversee the company p-card process, ensuring compliance across the p-card user group.
    • Ensure there are clear plans for both individual & team development.
    • Liaise and work with internal stakeholders to create strong relationships.
    • Compliance with all relevant legislation and internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance is
      effective.
    • Clear SLA’s shared with all stakeholders on a regular and timely basis.
    • Ensure team work to defined process including working with certain escalation timelines

    Personal skills should include:

      • Experience in a Cash Management and Shared Service Centre environment.
      • Min 5 years Cash Management experience.
      • Strong technical experience.
      • Able to demonstrate strong operational control and process knowledge.
      • Resilient & hard-working and works well in a change environment.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with people at all levels.
      • Able to demonstrate strong operational control and process knowledge.
      • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise effectively & to work to and meet deadlines.
      • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team.
      • Flexible approach and adaptable to a changing working environment.
      • Down to earth, hands on and pragmatic.
