Following our success in winning a place on Highways England's Routes to Market Regional Delivery Partnership (RDP) framework, as a Delivery Integration Partner (DIP), we are looking for Engineers to join our Highways Design team. This is an opportunity to take a join our growing vibrant and dynamic Highways Design Services (HDS) team and contribute to our achieving a high performing shared enterprise with our partners.

You will be based in one of our UK offices but using our go digital platforms you will be an integral part of the wider HDS design team located around the UK.

Mott MacDonald's Highways Division delivers services across the entire project lifecycle. Whether we are planning, designing and implementing new roads, or maintaining, managing, improving and operating existing highway networks, we deliver innovation, cost certainty and added value through collaborative working with clients and a culture of continuous improvement.
The Highways Design Services Principal Account is primarily based in the UK, delivering projects to clients such as Highways England and Transport Scotland. We specialise in design and construction, progressing schemes from option identification and appraisal through preliminary detail design to supervision of works on site. We also provide advice on procurement options and administer contracts from tender assessment through interim valuations to settlement of final accounts.

Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:

Awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and how it is applied to the design process
Degree in Civil Engineering
Working towards Chartership -/ Incorporated Engineer with ICE or CIHT
Knowledge of highway design standards (DMRB) and specification (MCHW)
A demonstrable track record in highway design and highway construction
A confident communicator with good verbal and writing ablility
Self-motivated and enthusiastic with excellent team work abilities
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Knowledge of NEC contracts and quality requirements
Knowledge of contract preparation and procurement
Microsoft Office

As an engineer you will contribute to the delivery of highways design deliverables to serve the Delivery Integration Partner. You will be expected to combine technical ability with a high degree of self-motivation.

Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring adherence to our health and safety policy and procedures.

Producing design packages to the correct standards and to the HDS quality obligations and requirements set out in the internal Business Management System.
Ensuring adherence to delivery target dates and budgets

Supporting the presentation of technical advice to clients and stakeholders
Assisting Project Managers on major schemes and with business development.
