Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Network Modeller to join our team of innovative and motivated modellers, engineers and project managers, delivering projects across the Thames Water region. We are looking for a driven, experienced individual who wants to progress their career, with a desire to evolve within Mott MacDonald, and to mentor and develop others. As a network modeller, you'll provide key technical inputs on a diverse range of UK wastewater infrastructure projects, from feasibility through to detailed design. You'll be responsible for:

  • Modelling of growth and developer services schemes, including development of solutions
  • Model build and verification
  • Specification and management of flow surveys
  • Production and checking of models, calculations and reports.
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced staff and providing guidance to support their professional development
  • Working in close partnership with clients, representing the company in technical meetings.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines, and, if of interest, project management

Candidate Specification

  • Qualified candidates should be familiar with InfoWorks hydraulic modelling software (preferably ICM), as well GIS packages (ideally MapInfo).

  • Relevant degree qualified

  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution (i.e. ICE or CIWEM)

  • Excellent skills in spreadsheet data analysis (i.e: using MS Excel pivot tables or PowerBI)

  • Good communicator - able to put across your ideas in a logical and coherent fashion in both oral presentations and written reports, including to non-technical staff and clients

  • Any programming skills in languages such as VBA or Python would be advantageous
