Would you like to work within an IPT environment with the challenges of working cross functionally to influence the delivery of projects? We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Manager – Onsite Services that will be part of the Dreadnought Onsite Services contracting team.

This position will be based in our Barrow site and will be part of the team that develops and manages sub-contracts for the provision of on-site services supporting the Submarine build programme. Such services typically cover Blasting and Spray services, In-situ machining services, Insulation services amongst others.

More exciting to this role is that you’ll be proactively supporting the team as well in ensuring that demand is understood and that sub-contracts are planned and delivered in line with governance and project requirements.

Your main responsibilities as Supply Chain Manager- Onsite Services:

Managing a team of supply chain professionals in the development and management of Major Sub-Contracts for on-site services in support of Submarine build delivery

Delivering the product/service by ensuring that direct reports have purpose and clarity and are empowered to meet key delivery targets within an acceptable timescale and budget

Helping to deliver key strategies, policies and procedures that enhance build delivery, product quality and customer satisfaction

Working cross functionally / within an IPT in order to ensure achievement of key knowledge transfer and deployment of best working practices across the business

Managing behaviours to ensure they are conducive to the required business culture, maintaining a united and professional image

Managing and delivering own contracts in conjunction with internal stakeholders. Developing Supplier Relationships, Cost Reduction Opportunities and Performance Improvement

Your skills and qualifications as Supply Chain Procurement Manager:


People Management skills & supporting challenging stakeholders

Good knowledge of developing and managing sub-contracts

Proven track record in financial management with forecasting/spend

Previous experience in conducting supplier performance reviews and working with supplier to address short falls

Flexibility to support business requirements including travel and visits to key suppliers


Good knowledge of SAP, Team Center.

Familiarity with BAE internal processes and standards
