IT Security Analyst

Would you like to work as part of a team safeguarding BAE Systems UK enterprise IT infrastructure against cyber threats through the use of the IT Security Technical Control Software solutions and compensating controls? We currently have vacancies for IT Security Analyst at our site in Preston preferable – other UK wide locations considered.

As an IT Security Analyst, your role will be to proactively install, manage and update toolsets as required, whilst continuously working towards organisational, departmental and individual objectives and uphold security standards and principles.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a Cyber Security Environment whilst using the toolsets and projects in a large network enterprise environment.

Your main responsibilities as a IT Security Analyst will involve:

Contributing to the development of the services through process, people and technology where appropriate.

Monitoring internal sources of information in line with the Analyst role.

Proactively manage and update toolsets as required for the role.

Providing 3rd line support to IT Security as required.

Providing response to large scale or complex security incidents

Performing analysis of data to determine if there is a risk to the business, and inform the appropriate team

Contributing to the development of the services through process, people and technology where appropriate.

Contribute to IT Security Technical Control Software solutions service pilots and proof of concept testing in support of the cyber security investment programme.

Ensuring that any changes to IT Security Technical Control Software solutions are executed within a project framework as appropriate

Your skills and qualifications as an IT Security Analyst :

Essential:

Demonstrable knowledge of installation, configuration & ongoing support of hardware

Technical troubleshooting of network attached toolsets

A strong technical background in IT and associated technologies

Analytical background with the ability to analyse and interpret large and complex data sets and articulate observations, conclusions and recommendations

Appreciation of networks, server technologies and end user computer technologies

Understanding security threats, exposures and risk

Desirable:

Background of prior experience of working in an information and/or cyber security environment (Government or commercial sector) environments

ITIL Process experience

Technical background with experience in an IT or IT Security operations or equivalent role

CCNA qualification

You will also have the ability to work with BAE Systems internal stakeholders up to senior management level, and external stakeholders up to an equivalent level to deliver the best solutions for the business, thus contributing to maintaining BAE Systems reputation with all its key customers.

Location: Preston preferable – other UK wide locations considered

Salary: £30,000-£40,000 dependent on skills and experience
