Infrastructure Finance and Advisory

The Infrastructure Finance and Advisory (“IFA”) team has a global mandate to originate, structure and execute infrastructure finance deals in developed and emerging markets. We are a ‘product agnostic’ team comprised of experts in project finance, bonds, loans and structured products. We assist other product and coverage partners in deals involving infrastructure assets – across loan and bond financing, M&A, equity raises, project finance advisory, derivatives structuring and other products. We engage with both greenfield and brownfield projects across the transportation, energy, power, telecommunications and social infrastructure sectors.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced banker to be based in Dubai or London who will help build and lead IFA’s presence in the MENA region. The recruited professional would:

  • Work with the broader IFA team and our partners across J.P. Morgan to identify new infrastructure finance and risk management opportunities in MENA
  • Work with coverage and product bankers to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationships
  • Lead structuring and execution of bank and bond infrastructure financings, including contract negotiation, due diligence and consultant management
  • Lead credit risk and other internal approval processes for loans and counterparty exposures
  • Develop and execute rating strategies for infrastructure financings
  • Oversee the development of financial models
  • The role may also cover the CEE or whole of Africa regions depending on the experience of the candidate involved

Qualifications

  • Strong project/infrastructure finance experience
  • Experience with infrastructure finance transactions in MENA required
  • Expert knowledge of bank loan, bond, structured products and derivative structures and market norms. Familiar with M&A process
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling for complex projects on M&A and financing situations
  • Candidate has existing infrastructure client and investor relationships and knowledge of the infrastructure industry and markets
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Willingness to work hard and be a team player. We work closely with partners in M&A, capital markets, credit, and various markets groups including FX and Rates, as well as our partners across the control functions. We are also a relatively small global team, and would expect our MENA team members to be in close coordination and dialogue with the rest of the IFA team in New York, London and Asia
  • An ability to juggle deliverables for long-term transactions as well as a busy day-to-day schedule
