Senior Quality Engineer

Would you like to play a key role within Quality Assurance? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Quality Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be providing independent assurance and support to the business to ensure product safety and customer satisfaction. You will do this through supporting functions to ensure that quality principals are embedded and effective.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in supporting business aims as part of a dedicated quality team, allowing you to work within all areas of the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Quality Engineer will involve:

Providing support / independent assurance to Operations in embedding quality principles

Engaging and Influencing stakeholders at all levels

Providing independent assurance of key product quality processes

Conducting Internal audits and support third party audit activities

Ensuring proactive management of issues/quality actions

Providing root cause analysis support

Being creative in solutions for managing issues and ensuring continual improvement

Being adaptable to change in direction
Your skills and qualifications:
Operations/manufacturing quality background
ISO 9001 Audit experience
Action management experience
Experience of facilitating root cause analysis

Ability to communicate across all levels of the business

Proactive and adaptable to change in direction

Knowledge of a Submarine specific Build / Operations

Lean / 6 Sigma
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
Defect analysis
Process improvement & Planning

You will be a proactive problem-solving individual with excellent communication skills. This will allow you to demonstrate your stakeholder management/influencing skills throughout the business using your communication skills, showcasing your confidence in an Operations setting.

Maritime – Submarines
