SharePoint Engineer

Would you like to be part of the EITS (Enterprise IT Services) SharePoint Product team supporting the enterprise SharePoint Collaboration / Global Intranet solution within BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a SharePoint Engineer at our site in Preston – The Strand.

As a SharePoint Engineer, you will be joining the SharePoint product team within Shared Services you will work to continuously improve the product offering by deploying new features and functionality to ensure it stays abreast of the latest innovations and will have new opportunities to broaden your skills through integrations with complementary products such as BI and Project Server.

This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing SharePoint practice within BAE Systems to support the needs of the BAE Systems internal customers. As a key member of the SharePoint Product Team you will be able to take advantage of agile techniques and technical training to continuously develop the solution.

Your main responsibilities as a SharePoint Engineer will involve:

Reporting to the SharePoint Product Owner, the SharePoint Engineer will work under the technical guidance of the SharePoint Technical Architect to deliver and support Enterprise SharePoint across the UK Businesses

Work closely with internal customers across all UK Business capturing requirements for Business as Usual improvements to their SharePoint deployments, developing innovative solutions then delivering against agreed Statements of Work. Whilst ensuring all SharePoint deployments and developments adhere to internal Governance.

Manage the relationship between the EITS SharePoint Product team its suppliers and partners, run regular meetings with these suppliers and partners tracking incidents, problems and service requests, gather monthly statistics and metrics. Monitoring and managing spend against budgets, providing regular updates and reports to the Product Owner.

Collaborate as part of a self-organising SharePoint Product Team facilitated by the Scrum lead, using agile sprints, and participating in daily stand ups, sprint reviews, planning and retrospectives to deliver the items on the product backlog. Tracking workloads and spend against agreed budgets and Statements of Work.

Contribute to discussions and generate new ideas around how to break down items on the backlog and deliver value early and often throughout the process, and share knowledge with other members of the SharePoint Product Team in order to help meet sprint goals

Attend / run workshops with customers and other key stakeholders to provide regular demos and gather feedback

Liaising with suppliers, team members, senior leaders and industry peers to continuously improve delivery whilst working with customers to introduce innovation and evolve the product, documenting technical business requirements and process into a format that the business can understand

Supporting project teams in the upgrade of SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2016, closely working with customers, partners and suppliers to effectively and efficiently migrate content from 2010 to 2016.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

SharePoint experience (2016 essential – 2019 advantageous)

Previous experience of either supporting and/or developing SharePoint

Experience of developing Nintex and InfoPath forms

Experience of working in an agile environment

Experience of managing suppliers and partners

Experience of tracking spend and managing budgets

Desirable:

Working foundation in process frameworks like ITIL and Agile

Involvement of working for a large organisation

Experience of working on large SharePoint migration projects (1000s of end users)

Additional experience with BI or Project Server an advantage

Experience of Supplier and Stakeholder (customer) Management

Understanding of the internal IPB process

Experience of Intranet / Web development
