Would you like to play a key role in the conduct of Refrigeration and Chilled Water Systems commissioning, operation, maintenance and defect rectification activities? We currently have a vacancy for a Commissioning Engineer – Refrigeration at our site in Portsmouth.
As a Commissioning Engineer – Refrigeration, you will be working across different classes of ships, such as board Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carriers, Type 45 (T45) Destroyers and Type 23 (T23) Frigates.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to ensure work is to agreed standards and delivered in the most economical, logical and professional way, with due regard being paid at all times to Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE).
Your main responsibilities as a Commissioning Engineer – Refrigeration will involve:
Maintaining, commissioning and defect diagnosis and reification in Refrigeration and Chilled water systems
Apply knowledge, skill and experience in order to resolve issues and faults associated with the operation and performance of Refrigeration and Chilled water systems
Operate Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company SHE procedures at all times
Requires detailed technical knowledge and broad experience of Refrigeration and Chilled water systems and what influences their performance
Needs a broad understanding of Refrigeration circuit theory and how flow-rates and heat-exchange impact fluid systems’ performance
Needs demonstrable experience of maintenance and repair of Refrigeration and Chilled water systems and a keenness to keep abreast of technological initiatives and updates
HNC – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
You will be a proactive individual with the ability to understand technical information and communicate technical information to others and behave ethically in accordance the business code of conduct. This will be demonstrated through your honesty and integrity whilst building positive and effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
Furthermore, you will demonstrate strong work commitment and self-motivation which will be shown through working effectively both in teams and individually.
