Brief Description

The aim of the newly created Capital Delivery Centre of Excellence is to continuously improve the way Network Rail plans and delivers investment projects and provide confidence that benefits and outcomes will be delivered for passengers and freight.

The role will work within the newly formed Network Rail Capital Delivery Centre of Excellence, reporting into Head of Sponsorship as part of the Network Rail's Sponsorship Support team who lead the national companywide profession (matrix management) and external organisations in the development and implementation of consistent good practice standards and methodology.

This role is key part of the Sponsorship profession support for the development, implementation and ongoing management of a Network Rail governance and assurance framework. It entails stakeholder engagement across a number of functions and with senior management, as well as requiring extensive organisational skills.

About the role (External)

Job Purpose

    Manage elements of the sponsorship capability development programme and be accountable for influencing key stakeholders across Network Rail.

      Support sponsorship assurance to support providing confidence to the Network Rail Executive

        Champion the interests of profession to clients, customers and partners acting as the focal point of contact within the professional centre of excellence.

          Build effective relationships, (internally & externally) to balance the needs of the profession, client, deliverer and the industry as a whole.

            Monitor and report on the development, governance and assurance of Network Rail's sponsorship

              Manage communications plan and activities for the profession.

              Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

              Essential

                Qualified to degree level

                  Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer focused

                    Negotiating skills

                      Knowledge / understanding of the railway industry

                        Experience of dealing with industrial client portfolios and negotiating contracts to finalisation and able to demonstrate commercial success

                        Desirable

                          Member of sponsorship profession in Railway industry or transport sector

                            Experience of supporting and championing a Profession to clients, customers and partners acting as the focal point within the professional centre of excellence

                              Proven influencing and negotiating skills

                                Experience of dealing with client portfolios and liaising with people at all levels

                                  Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages

                                    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

                                    Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £42,971 - £48,342

                                    Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks require prospective employees of Network Rail to meet the following requirements;
