About the role
Abcam is searching for a stellar leader to drive its digital product strategy and help guide the business through an exciting Digital transformation. Your mission is to delight customers and grow Abcam’s business by understanding and solving our customers’ problems and delivering world-class experiences.
- Define the product vision and strategy for Abcam’s digital customer experiences
Build and manage an ambitious product roadmap balancing short and long term goals and investments to delight customers and grow the business
Lead a significant digital transformation and investment in new technology and platforms to enable a step change in customer experience
Develop a deep understanding of our customers and work with the business, designers and our developers to meet their needs
Deploy a customer-first approach, utilising data and feedback from across the business to optimise the customer experience; as part of this set and measure the right KPIs
Build and grow a team of Product Managers and UX designers and help evolve and refine Abcam’s approach to product design
Partner closely with the business, IT, marketing and other internal teams to create and deliver innovative, compelling, global product experiences
Champion digital innovation, best practices and ways of working at Abcam, ensuring we continue to have a reputation for digital leadership
- 8+ years of experience in product management leading end-to-end product development
You set and drive the big picture strategy while also rolling up your sleeves and providing detailed guidance on individual projects
You have a proven track record of being able to deliver highly ambitious products and projects. You’ll be ready to show what these are, and how you made it happen
You bring relevant eCommerce and digital experience and best practices
You work in a highly collaborative way with a heavy emphasis on teamwork and leading through influence; you can partner with other teams at senior levels to drive change
You can hire and grow high performing teams
You are curious and you’re not afraid to learn the skills you need
You’re a great communicator. You can articulate a clear and compelling vision. You can summarise the complex and can adapt your communication style to different audiences
You’re able to zoom in and obsess about small details that benefit customers

You have good technical know-how. You need to be able to communicate effectively with IT teams and partners
