Finance Manager – Typhoon Capability and New Business

We currently have a vacancy for a Finance Manager responsible for the Eurofighter Typhoon capability programmes at our site in Warton.

As a Finance Manager for the Eurofighter Typhoon capability programmes, you will be responsible for providing Finance leadership to teams across the Europe and International portfolio, which covers a variety of interesting bid proposals and contracts, ranging in size, complexity and value. You will be part of an Integrated Project Team, working alongside Commercial, Project Management and in some cases Operations and Procurement; therefore, your ability to work cross-functionally is vital. You will need to exhibit high levels of business acumen to ensure you add value to your Project and BAE Systems as a whole.

This is a true partnering role to the business and will involve delivery of contracts and new business.

Your main responsibilities as a Capability Finance Manager will involve:

Supporting and partnering with the business as appropriate to generate the forward business plan and ensure all financial and operational targets are achieved

Mobilisation of new contracts in support of the transition from bid to contract delivery

Collaboration with Customers and Partner Companies

Leading the delivery of all internal and external reporting requirements as required

Preparing, reviewing and challenging the 5 Year Business Plans (Budgets) including assumptions, risks and opportunities and bridging to previous submissions

Preparing, reviewing and challenging the Monthly Forecasts including assumptions, risks and opportunities and explanation of forecast movements

Ensuring all bids are subject to the appropriate financial challenge and in line with business process

Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team

Focusing on maintaining and improving financial controls

Supporting Internal and External Audit activity and ensuring a robust control environment is in place

Managing and functional leadership for a team of qualified/part qualified/accountants

Your skills and qualifications as a Capability Finance Manager:

Must be CIMA, ACA or ACCA Qualified. Part qualified candidates will not be considered nor will AAT Qualified candidates.

Preferably have experience as a Finance Business Partner engaging with non-Finance staff and providing decision support to stakeholders – demonstrating business acumen

Experience of people management and development preferable
