Responsibilities

This isn’t a restrictive or exhaustive list but is designed to give you an idea of your responsibilities in this role and the impact you’ll have.

This role is focused on the Schools Market in the UK, working alongside our partner, product and teacher engagement teams to ensure we have the right relationships and environment to ensure Microsoft is successful in the UK schools market.

Strategic Customer Engagement and Compete

The UK schools market has a number of organisations that buy on behalf of schools. This role will support these customers from a strategic relationship perspective, helping guide them on their own digital transformation and brining Microsoft technology to life to have impact on teaching and learning, teacher workload and the way that the schools and related organisations are run. You'll be responsible for helping the customers embrace the benefits of Cloud computing from Microsoft, including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure, and winning with Windows 10 devices.

Ecosystem of Schools Partnerships

With nearly 30,000 schools in the UK, we need to work successfully with other organisations in order to meet customer needs. Microsoft has a strong background in working with technology partners, and identifying strategic ISVs and service providers that can maximise the impact of Microsoft technology in schools will be critical. There are also a range of other potential partnerships and complementary organisations that could increase our reach and impact across the schools market.

Influencer Relationships

There are a wide range of industry bodies, independent organisations and individuals who schools look to for guidance when they make technology decisions. This role will be responsible for identifying the relationships that can have the greatest impact for Microsoft and our customers, and to build and maintain those relationships. This could be across government, industry bodies or content providers, to name just a few potential examples.

Qualifications

You’ll need to be able to translate the technology requirements and landscape within the UK Schools market into the technology and solutions that Microsoft has. In order to do this ideally you will have a mixture of the following experiences and knowledge:

Experience of selling education software solutions (Microsoft software and devices technology preferred) combined with deep understanding of key education solutions and competitive technologies
A deep understanding of the different influences in the UK Schools market that are relevant for technology choice and usage.
Strong drive for success, with tenacity and willingness to compete
Possess executive maturity, presence and experience in building trust with senior education decision makers and articulating how education institutions can digitally transform teaching and learning/student outcomes with Microsoft solutions
Strong business planning and business discipline skills woven with ability to develop and implement targeted plans
Ability to drive digital transformation in a highly competitive environment with proven ability to successfully anticipate market changes to drive industry-relevant solutions, address competitive threats and navigate complex customer environments
Experience in leading and driving the entire sales cycle, orchestrating virtual selling teams where necessary, leveraging repeatable offerings that maximize revenue/market share/consumption opportunities and increase customer satisfaction
Be comfortable with public speaking and the media
