IM&T Practitioner

Would you like a varied role that involves providing day-to-day support and the ability to influence long-term strategic direction? We currently have a vacancy for an IM&T Practitioner at our site in Barrow In Furness.

As an IM&T Practitioner, you will be building strong relationships across different functions in order to lead and manage the administration of the standalone IT infrastructure within a new facility. You will be supporting the wider IT team within Process and Governance to support all the Information Security and Assurance within the Facility.

This role will provide you with a broad and rich variety of projects to get involved with building on networks working across multiple functions, you would be working with state-of-the-art technology supporting the Dreadnought programme.

Your main responsibilities as a IM&T Practitioner will involve:

Leading the administration of a VM ware virtual environment

Building and rolling out of physical and virtual servers and work stations

Leading the Information Assurance and Security activities for the facility

Patching and updates via WSUS configuration and administration

System back-ups and restore (utilizing Veeam)
Database Administration
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential skills

Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Either significant experience or qualifications in VMware

Virtualisation experience

Significant experience working within Windows server domain

Knowledge or exposure to Information Security and Assurance

Stakeholder management experience

Significant background working in an IT environment

You will have strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. You will be a proactive individual that has the ability to work well within a team of 15 and under your own initiative.
