A bit about the role:

The primary aspect of the role is to lead building services within the healthcare sector on a UK/National basis. Whilst we have a number of talented building services engineers with a depth of experience within this sector, we are actively seeking out a leader in this field. The role is specifically around building services and healthcare and would include:
* Representing Mott MacDonald within this sector and discipline and presenting yourself as an expert in this field.
* Acting as a focal point within the Unit in terms of technical knowledge and trends within the sector.
* Be a role model to other healthcare building services practitioners within the business.
* Encouraging and ensuring that we provide our clients with leading edge building services design solutions and exemplary levels of service.
* Drive for quality including design reviews and technical excellence.
* Work with our recruitment team as appropriate to develop our building services resource in this sector.
* Mentor and develop building services staff operating within this sector to enable them to achieve their maximum potential.
* Guide and lead project principals and project managers within the sector to achieve commercial success and technical excellence.
* Working closely with our unit and global healthcare leads to develop this market.
* Leading healthcare bids as appropriate in conjunction with our marketing department and working with our Divisional marketing manager to improve our opportunities.
* Assist in growing the fee income in this sector as appropriate through selective bidding of quality projects and ultimately deliver an enhanced level of commercial success.
* Acting as Project Principal on selected projects.

Candidate Specification :
* The ideal candidate will have built a reputation in healthcare MEP design.
* Extensive post graduate experience in MEP services within the healthcare.
* Extensive experience leading major healthcare MEP projects.
* In depth knowledge of HTM's / HBN's and other relevant standards.
* In depth knowledge of the integrated design process unique to this sector and the various dependencies that impact on the MEP design process.
* Relevant Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree with Chartered status preferred.
* Experience and willingness to act as a Project Principal and remain hands on in that sense whilst being an example to others.
* Ultimately, we deliver engineering solutions so we are looking for a candidate who is an accomplished design engineer who will quickly achieve the respect of the team and inspire them to deliver technical excellence.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a MEP team, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills.
* Whilst mechanical engineering would be the preferred core discipline, we would consider candidates from an electrical. engineering background depending on their skill set and experience.
* Experienced in bidding and work winning and developing client relationships.

You will be working for the Buildings and South East division which is one of the four regions of the UK built environment arm of Mott MacDonald, turning over £44m in fees and employing 400 staff in offices located in Central London, Croydon, Brighton, Southampton, Cambridge and Norwich. Our main built environment sectors are healthcare, sports, commercial, residential, cultural and arts, education, higher education, rail, hospitality, civic, aviation and defence.
