Anglia Route runs some of the most important rail infrastructure in the UK. We enable more than 4,000 passenger and freight trains to run every day, calling at 235 stations across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and London. We also own and operate London Liverpool Street, the nation's third busiest station, with 63.6 million passenger journeys passing through every year.

Over the next few years, we're investing more than £2bn in running the railway in Anglia, transforming our network to make journeys more reliable and delivery a better passenger experience all-round.

Brief Description

We can't do this alone. Our train and freight operators are vital partners in helping us deliver a better railway for passengers, businesses and the economy.Keeping our customers and wider stakeholders informed of the dozens of projects we are delivering to improve passenger and freight journeys is critical to increasing engagement and collaboration across the industry.
We also need to improve how we communicate with passengers during times of disruption.

About the role (External)

We need a creative communications manager to help us tell the story of our £2bn investment in making passenger journeys better through a variety of internal and digital channels, and working with our industry partners, improve how we inform passengers when things go wrong.

Working within a team of 13, you will be involved in:

  • Devising communications plans
  • Creating imaginative and compelling storytelling materials using existing and new channels
  • Running stakeholder events and site visits
  • Support our senior public affairs manager with stakeholder relations

We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £32,740 and £36,832. This is a 6 month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract, with the potential to be made permanent.

Network Rail is required to comply with UK Government standards when carrying out pre-employment checks for all new starters; this includes a basic criminal record check. In addition to the basic criminal record check, in accordance with the UK Government we are also required to verify your identity, right to work in the UK and previous three years employment history.
