Senior Financial Accountant - (Fixed Assets and Leases)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, dependable and motivated individual to join our finance team. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Financial Accountant - (Fixed Assets and Leases) at our site in Glascoed.
As a Senior Financial Accountant - (Fixed Assets and Leases), you will be improving internal procedures and standardising our fixed asset process across multiple accounting systems. You will take full ownership of our Asset and Leasing processes as well as management of a team of assistant accountants and be operationally responsible for your team including balancing workload, holidays, and completing regular personal performance reviews with team members
This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop within the financial field which will allow for upwards trajectory and sideways opportunities within the business.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Financial Accountant - (Fixed Assets and Leases) will involve:
Being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and process owner for Asset and Leasing accounting.
Actively engaging in regular personal development reviews with the team, managing absence, recruitment activities.
Ensuring the administration of asset and leasing transactions are recorded accurately in multiple accounting systems and are approved in line with company guidelines.
Monitoring fixed asset and leasing ledgers and maintaining master data.
Responsible for IFRS16 accounting treatment and reconciliation.
Reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy & ensuring the integrity of the Nominal Ledger with all accounts reconciled and approved monthly.
Developing good understanding of the various business units including Timetables, Chart of Accounts, Service Level Agreements, Accounting Systems, processes, systems and business.
Developing strong relationships with your finance contacts, through regular customer interaction ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained. Liaising with them and assisting them with any fixed asset or leasing queries
Your skills and qualifications:
Fully qualified accounting professional, ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent
Asset and Leasing accounting experience would be highly desirable
Have an understanding of Financial Controls and Data Protection regulations
Strong analytical skills and a vigilant approach to problem solving
IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel
Good working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion would be desirable
Line management experience desirable
Ability to motivate a team, delegate appropriately and communicate clearly
