Application and Training Services Manager

Would you like to play a role in the delivery of all the E&DS Application and Training services? We currently have a vacancy for an Application and Training Services Manager at our site in Broad Oak, Portsmouth.

As an Application and Training Services Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of all Application Management and Training arrangements to both internal and external customers, this includes Maintenance Data management, Training design and delivery and Application Consultancy.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with all post release services for the Information Services portfolio of E&DS products and services. This includes external service contracts with UK MoD customers, commercial customers, and internal service arrangements within BAE Systems.

Your main responsibilities as an Application and Training Services Manager will involve:

Responsible for engagement with customers and key stakeholders to ensure business objectives and service capabilities are being met

Responsible for liaison with the Information Services Product Owners to ensure Digital Services products and services are delivering against customer demands

Responsible for monitoring and reporting service performance to the DS Service Delivery & Support Manager

Responsible for managing Application and Training process adherence

Responsible for KPI adherence for responsible contracts

Line manager for the Application and Training team members

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential skills
  • Royal Navy Engineering background, ideally at warrant officer/ officer level
  • In depth knowledge of RN maintenance management systems and ideally a comprehensive understanding of Reliability Centred Maintenance and its implementation in the Royal Navy
  • Excellent understanding of concepts, techniques and procedures in Application Data management and training delivery services
  • Excellent domain understanding of our MoD, customer base ideally with an extensive operational experience
  • Man management experience
  • The job is expected to have bidding support commercial and financial competence
Desirable skills
  • Detailed operational knowledge of the RN Maintenance systems and the customer utilisation and expectations
  • Knowledge and application of BAE Systems Lifecycle Management Framework
  • Knowledge of core Service delivery competencies (ITIL)
  • Understand and adhere to BAE Systems Maritime Services policies and procedures and maintain compliance with statutory regulations (including those of Information Systems, Safety Health & Environment and Security Requirements)
  • In depth Knowledge and experience in the Maritime Sector and/or in dealing with Ministry of Defence including behaviours and performance of industry competitors
