Would you like to play a key role within our fire and rescue service working to support both civil and military aircraft operations at CAT6 up to CAT9? We currently have a vacancy for a Aviation Firefighter at our site in Warton which is home to the UK based manufacture of the Eurofighter Typhoon and Hawk aircraft.
As an Aviation Firefighter, you will be working within a CAA and MAA regulated rescue & firefighting service and report directly to the Watch Manager within a team of 24 professionals. You will be required to discharge rescue and firefighting functions across the Warton Aerodrome and responding to aircraft incidents/accidents, building related emergencies as well as medical emergencies supporting approximately 7500 people.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work as an operational aviation firefighter which is a dynamic and exciting environment to work within and develop on any pre-existing skill sets. You will form part of an efficient and professional team providing a service across the Warton Aerodrome, other departments, personnel and business areas.
Your main responsibilities as a Aviation Firefighter will involve:
As a firefighter within the Air Sector, Warton Rescue & Firefighting service you will be called upon to provide firefighting skills and support to both the civil and military aircraft operating at Warton Aerodrome by:
Responding to all emergency situations within the airport licensed area
Performing routine tests and inspections in all rescue and firefighting services equipment
Participating in mandatory and routine training sessions applicable to Firefighter role
Carrying out mandatory assessments applicable to Firefighter role
Maintaining personal training and competence
Carrying out station and other duties
Communicating effectively with others, whilst treating people with dignity and respect regardless of their background or culture
Your skills and qualifications:
Current appropriate/competency qualifications as a Professional Firefighter, including breathing apparatus wearer’s certificate
Satisfy security clearance checks to SC level
Good standards of physical fitness and able to pass a full fire service medical
Full UK driving license
2 GCSE’s minimum in English, Maths and Science at Grade C or above
LGV Cat C Licence or ability to pass LGV CAT C Licence course requirements once in role
First Aid certificate or equivalent
EFAD (Emergency Fire Appliance Driver)
Certificated Fire extinguisher maintenance and Fire Safety qualifications
Working at Height & Confined Space Rescue
Working in difficult environments i.e. mud rescue, water rescue awareness

Salary: 29,169 (dependent on experience)
